Hidden gem: Perranporth Flash Fair

suzie 6th August 2013

Every Thursday in Perranporth there’s a flurry of activity as artists, sellers and craftspeople move into the Memorial Hall for the flash fair.

You’ll probably see the posters around town and if you walk by you’ll certainly not miss the man with a large bell and an even larger voice inviting you in to a homely little fair showcasing a range of local crafts and bric-a-brac.

Craftspeople like Alan of Oceanborn, who crafts beautiful items from driftwood gathered from local coves and beaches. Based in St Agnes, Alan’s pieces include mirrors, bottle racks and small shelf units.

Next stop is loophole, where Steph sells hand dyed yarns and knitted and crochet accessories made in Perranporth and then take a look at thesome seriously stunning handmade and vintage jewellery, hats and bridal headwear at Bespoke Tiaras and Vintage Glam.

You’ll also find Julianne, of Blue Moon, offering professional tarot, pendulum and palm readings at very reasonable rates – the perfect holiday activity!

All in all this is a great little find and a lovely way to spend a bit of time away from the beach in a friendly atmosphere.
