Escape and relax...

1st June 2018

Take some time out from the stresses of daily life with a relaxing break by the sea. Nurture your wellbeing, reconnect with nature, and give yourself some time to unwind. Here’s our guide to chilling out Cornwall-style…

Sea views

Watching the waves roll in slows down the mind and relaxes the brain, due to the blue hues and meditative sounds of the sea. Looking out across the expanse of the sea allows our brain to rest and bring about a sense of perspective. So put your feet up, breathe in the restorative sea air and feel the calming effects of time by the ocean.

Hot tubs

Lazing in a warming hot tub (maybe with a glass of something in hand) will help melt away the physical effects of hectic daily life! Soak in the bubbles and relax!

Try Yoga

How about yoga with a sea view for a truly relaxing and restorative feeling? Yoga is known to help focus and destress, while stretching out the muscles and leaving you feeling light and balanced. Try Limehouse in Perranporth or Oceanflow in Newquay for yoga with a view!

Digital detox

Whilst pretty much all our properties come with WiFi, how about putting down your phone or tablet and watching the views instead of a screen! Stop scrolling and start strolling, take a walk along the coastline and see nature at its finest.

Get active

Give your body a boost and get the endorphins pumping to feel good – how about a run along Perranporths three miles of sandy beach or bootcamp on the sand? Or give surfing a go, and ride the waves for the ultimate thrill, releasing more of our happy hormones!

Eat well

Tuck into seasonal fayre, served with a side of sea views! Try locally caught, fresh fish or treat yourself to a traditional Cornish cream tea – just remember jam first! If relaxing and cooking up a feast is your thing, order a Cornish Food Box (delivered straight to your holiday home’s fridge) for fresh, locally grown veggies and Cornish fayre. Forgot the usual teatime rush and take your time cooking and eating in one of our family holiday homes, with large dining spaces and modern kitchens.

Time together

Outside of your daily schedule, and the hustle and bustle of the everyday, spending time with your loved ones creating special memories and doing more of what makes you happy is the best way to promote your own well-being. Forget school runs, work commutes, homework and the supermarket shop and just take some time to just be together. Play in the sand, walk the coast path, enjoy long, lazy evenings watching the sun go down and feel your balance and well-being restored…
