Discover St Agnes village in Cornwall

23rd November 2018

Quintessentially Cornish, St Agnes is a vibrant, picturesque village on the north Cornish coast. Steeped in history and legend, and with a plethora of artisan shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, and a beautiful sheltered cove, it ticks all the boxes for a relaxing Cornish get-away by the sea. Read on for more on holidays in St Agnes, Cornwall.

Down at the Beach

Trevaunance Cove, the St Agnes beach at the bottom of the village, is a well-known surfing spot, and the sheltered cove with its clear water, sand and pebble beach and numerous rock pools is great for families. To view Cornwall from a different perspective, Koru Kayaking offer guided kayak adventures exploring the dramatic coastline, sea caves and beautiful secluded beaches around St Agnes. And for those looking for an adrenaline rush, local outdoor adventure activities include coasteering and stand up paddle boarding.

Bring your Dog

Dogs on leads are welcome at Trevauance Cove year-round, and for a lovely countryside dog walk take a wander along Jericho Valley, Cross Coombe. Meander along a shady, fern lined path down to Blue Hills and the small pebbled beach of Trevellas Porth where dogs are allowed off the lead. Another stunning walk (whether with or without dogs!) is up to St Agnes Beacon; hike the course to the highest point in the area to look out over spectacular panoramic countryside and coastal views.

Awarded a UNESCO World Heritage status, the remains of Wheal Coates engine house and tin mine is an iconic site above National Trust owned Chapel Porth beach, two miles south of St Agnes. Well worth a visit, and remember to leave time for a Cornish clotted cream ‘hedgehog’ ice cream from the café at the cove at the end of your walk!
