Lowenek House


Property Description

A spacious, comfortable family period house, in the centre of the village, Lowenek House sleeps 10 guests and is only 100 metres level walk from Perranporth's vast sandy beach and great surf.

The front door is set back from the main road and opens into a spacious entrance hall in which to hang coats and leave shoes. Entering into this large and welcoming house, doors lead off a roomy hallway into the kitchen, dining room, and sitting room. The tiled kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.  

A breakfast table seats four in front of patio doors which open out into the small enclosed garden where there is space to sit out in the sun, hang wetsuits or store bikes. There's also an outside shower to rinse the sand off after a day on the beach! A lockable back door from the kitchen leads to a self-contained annex to sleep two, which can also be accessed through its own separate entrance from the garden.  

Furnished with a double bed (4'6"), folding table, storage and wall mounted TV, a kitchenette is equipped with kitchenware and fitted with electric hob, microwave and fridge. A shower room is fitted with a corner shower cubicle, WC and basin. This ground floor apartment makes an ideal space for a couple, grandparents holidaying with the rest of the family, or solo occupancy. 

Back in the main house, the separate dining room has a large extendable table and seating for eight (additional chairs can be brought through from the kitchen), a piano and feature fireplace (not in use). The sitting room is furnished with a large corner sofa and matching stool (to seat eight), has an open fire, and a wall mounted Smart TV with Netflix. A washing machine and tumble dryer are housed under the stairs in the hallway. 

Upstairs, doors to the carpeted bedrooms lead off a beautifully large and light landing. A balcony at the front of the house catches the morning sun, and outdoor furniture provides a lovely place to sit and enjoy a coffee and watch the world go by. Bedroom two has a king-sized bed (5'), wardrobes, chest of drawers and a large bay window. Bedroom three is furnished with twin beds (3' each), a wardrobe and chest of drawers, and has a wash hand basin. Bedroom four has bunkbeds (3' each), a wardrobe and chest of drawers, and a wash hand basin. The tiled bathroom is fitted with a small bath, electric shower over the bath, WC and basin. In addition there is also a separate WC and basin on this floor.

A further staircase leads up to the top floor where there is a sitting room with a two small sofas, bean-bags, and a Smart TV. Large windows look out across Perranporth and to the fields beyond. This room leads into bedroom five which has a double bed (4'6") and is built under the eaves of the house, with a vaulted ceiling and furnished with a clothes hanging rail and chest of drawers. Also on this floor is a storage room which is kept locked. 

A parking space for one car is at the side of the house, and there is a pay and display car park two minutes' walk away if additional parking is needed. The house is heated by oil central heating and an open fire in the sitting room for cooler days. The other fireplaces in the property are not in use. Please be aware that smoking is not allowed anywhere in this property or the garden, nor are barbecues allowed in the garden due to an astroturf lawn. Due to weight restrictions a maximum of four people are allowed on the balcony at any one time.

Perranporth is a beautiful and bustling large village with several shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. A small supermarket is opposite Lowenek House, and the three-mile long beach is just around the corner, less than two minutes' walk. Within easy walking distance is the boating lake, children's play park, tennis courts, bowls, golf and of course surfing. Less than five minutes' drive gives you access to horse riding in Reen, and parachuting from the local airfield.  

The cathedral city of Truro and stunning beaches of Newquay are both only nine miles away and a variety of Cornwall's best tourist attractions, including the Eden Project and National Trust properties and gardens can all be found within a short drive. If you enjoy walking the stunning Cornish coastline, then the South West coast path can be joined in Perranporth, with spectacular walks to Holywell Bay to the north, or St Agnes to the south.

Please note this property does not provide towels or tea towels.  These can be hired from us or feel free to bring your own. Towel hire costs: Tea-towels £1.50 each, hand towels £3 each, bath towels £6 each.
