The Lookout is a charming bijou one-bedroom property, part of a larger cottage, with sole use of the large enclosed garden, driveway parking, and just five minutes' downhill walk to Perranporth's village and beach. Perfect for a romantic break, or single occupancy, The Lookout welcomes one dog, and is a comfortable and cosy hideaway positioned above the beach, set back on the cliff.
From the parking area with space for two cars, entrance to The Lookout is down several steps to the front door and then a further two internal steps into the kitchen. A colourful and homely room, the kitchen is lovely and light, with a large skylight, cream units, wood work surfaces and a flagstone floor. It is fully equipped with electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine. A shower room off the kitchen is fitted with a shower cubicle, WC and small basin.
A step down from the kitchen takes you into the cottage's dining / sitting room with exposed wooden floor and multi-fuel burner in a feature fireplace (there is also an additional portable heater in the cottage). Cosy and comfortable, the room is furnished with a dining table and two chairs, sofa, comfy chair, coffee table and TV, and a choice of books to curl up with.
The cottage is charmingly higgledy piggledy, with a further four steps leading up from the living area to the bedroom. Furnished with a double bed (4'6”) and shelves of books, there's a lovely original sash window with deep windowsill, and an external door out to the garden. Guests have sole use of the large enclosed lawned garden, which has a glimpse of the beach from the far end and enjoys the morning sun.
The Lookout is less than five minutes' downhill stroll to Perranporth's shops, bars and restaurants, and the glorious three-mile long dog-friendly sandy beach. One well behaved dog is welcome (to be kept off the furniture and it is requested that owners pick up after the dog in the garden please), and there are plenty of places on the doorstep to let your four-legged friend roam including the South West coast path which can be joined just two minutes' walk from the property and offers breathtaking views.
Perranporth is a great location from which to explore the rest of Cornwall: the cathedral city of Truro and beautiful beaches of Newquay are only eight miles away, and The Eden Project, Falmouth, Padstow and St Ives are all within an easy 40-minute drive.
Please be aware that there is uneven flooring at the end of the bedroom and some low ceilings between rooms: all part of the character of a traditional Cornish cottage!
