Positioned overlooking Porthtowan's beautiful sandy Blue Flag beach, Seafront enjoys magnificent panoramic views of the beach and sea.

The apartment adjoins the owner's accommodation however is completely separate and has exclusive use of an enclosed patio with picnic bench from which to sit in the sun and watch the waves roll in and the world go by. The main living area with open plan kitchen/lounge/diner makes the most of those impressive views with large windows framing the picture perfect landscape beyond.

The apartment is entered into a hallway with table and four chairs for beach view dining. The sitting room is furnished with two comfortable sofas (one which converts to a double sofa bed), TV and DVD player. The fully equipped kitchen includes a breakfast bar and stools and is fitted with a gas cooker and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and combination washer/dryer.

There is one step into the shower room which comprises a corner shower cubicle, WC and basin. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed (4'6”), wardrobe and dressing table, and a patio door opens to the outside space with patio and garden furniture.

In front of the owner's property are two parking spaces on the lane. From the parking area four steps lead up to the apartment which is then all on one level except for the step into the shower room. Seafront has oil central heating for the cooler months and welcomes one small to medium sized dog all year round. (Please supervise pets at all times – dogs must not be left in the property unattended – and bring your own dog bed. Thank you for your understanding.)

Please be aware that there is a seasonal dog ban on Porthtowan beach between Easter and 1st October, however there are many wonderful walks in the locality and also peak season dog-friendly beaches in the surrounding areas.

A few local shops and two pubs, including the shoreside café/bar the Blue Bar, are within a couple of minutes' walk of Seafront.

Paddle in the shallows, jump the waves, or swim and surf the waves. Explore the beach and the tidal swimming pool and search for fish and crabs in the rock pools. Enjoy leisurely days in the sun or relish the space at low tide and take your dog for a walk along the mile long stretch of golden sand to Chapel Porth (seasonal dog restrictions apply).

  • Culture and History

The landscape around Porthtowan has been shaped by its rich mining history, with the remains of engine houses and mining works dotting the surrounding scenery. The last remaining tin production centre in the UK is at the Blue Hills mine near St Agnes, and the iconic and striking Wheal Coates ruins are well worth a visit. The area is recognised as both a World Heritage Site, and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

  • Food and Drink

From a fresh and seasonal menu at the beachside Blue Bar, to fish and chips on the promenade, Porthtowan has a choice of eateries. For pub food head to The Unicorn or the Victory (a short drive up the hill), and The Mount Pleasant Eco Park is nearby, with a vegetarian and vegan café and Reggae Roasts on a Sunday. Remember to leave room for an indulgent Cornish ice cream from the Moomaid of Zennor!

  • Get Active

A beautiful blue flag beach, with a little known tidal pool, Porthtowan is a great place for watersports, well known for surfing and kite surfing. Kayaking adventures around the coves can be booked in St Agnes, and nearby Newquay offers more water sports, including SUPs, coasteering and boat charter.

  • Local Attractions

There’s plenty to see and do in the local area, without having to travel too far. Within a short drive of all our properties, visitors can pet farm animals and sample the local cyder at Healeys Cyder Farm, find out how ice cream is made (and of course treat yourself to some!) at Callestick Farm Cornish Ice Cream, and discover the ruins of St Piran’s Oratory in the sand dunes at Perranporth. Dairyland, with horse rides, farm animals, and a huge soft play area, is a great day out for families with young children, as is Lappa Valley Steam Railway with train rides and play park and exploring creatures of the deep at Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium at Towan Beach.

  • Explore Cornwall

Slightly further afield is The Eden Project with its famous biomes, the National Trust houses of Lanhydrock, Trelissick and Trerice, and the spectacular gardens of Glendurgan, Trebah and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From the rugged and dramatic north coast to the sheltered harbours of south coast fishing villages, everyone is bound to find a corner of Cornwall that captures their heart. Visit St Ives for cobbled streets and art galleries including the Tate St Ives, walk the causeway to St Michael’s Mount island off Marazion, and explore Falmouth’s fascinating maritime history. Padstow is a foodie’s heaven, while Truro boasts a stunning Gothic Revival cathedral and is the county’s shopping hub.
