Information

Accessibility

At Duchy Holidays we want to make everyone’s stay as enjoyable as possible, and we strive to provide suitable access for all our guests, whatever their individual needs.

Accessibility

Each of our properties is different with unique characteristics and facilities. We therefore aim to accurately describe them to give you the confidence to book the right property for your specific requirements. However, if you have any queries or would like our help, please give us a call on 01872 572971. Our team know all of our properties and will be able to advise which ones would be most suitable for your needs.

Visiting our office

Our office is all on one level, with no steps to navigate. The office doorway is wide enough for a standard wheelchair to pass through, with a width of 106cm.

Assistance dogs are welcome.

For visually impaired guests we can send property information and all correspondence emails in larger fonts upon request.

We do not have a hearing loop installed but will turn off the radio and assist however we can if you let us know that you have hearing difficulties.

There is parking outside our office on level ground. If you require a wider than usual parking space please let us know in advance so that we can ensure space is reserved for you.

OUR LOCATION

Perranporth is a large seaside village within a valley. The main street with shops and cafes, the beach promenade, and the large sandy beach are on the flat. The beach car park is level, with direct access to the beach down a gentle concreted slope. A beach wheelchair can be hired from Perranporth Garden Charities on 07881 521730 or from Mobius on 08456 430630.

Our Properties

We have over 130 properties in Perranporth and St Agnes, each one unique and with different characteristics and features. Cornish villages typically have steep hills, and the terrain here is no exception. There are high gradients to some roads, and many of our properties are on a hillside.

However, we do have a number of properties on the flat that are suitable for less mobile guests, and a few that are specifically suited to wheelchair users. Our team know all of our properties and will be able to advise which ones would be most suitable for your individual needs; please call us on 01872 572971 and we will be happy to help with your search.

On arrival at your holiday property please ensure you take note of an appropriate and accessible exit to use in the event of a fire.

Parking at Our Properties

Most of our properties provide parking outside the house or apartment however some do not have allocated parking and this is instead provided in a local car park or outside our office in the centre of Perranporth. Your parking requirements and the space available at each individual property can be discussed with our team who will be able to advise on the most suitable property for you.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are accepted in all of our properties. If a guest with an assistance dog chooses a pet-free property for their stay, an additional thorough deep clean will be undertaken after the booking to make the property suitable again for guests with pet allergies.

Allergies

If you have a pet allergy please inform our team when making your booking that you require a property that is always pet free. We have a number of properties which do not accept pets and would be suitable. The only exception is to this rule is that assistance dogs are accepted in all our properties but the properties are deep cleaned afterwards; please see above.

Some of our properties provide a welcome hamper on arrival for guests. These hampers do not contain nuts however we advise all guests with food allergies to carefully read the ingredients before handling or eating any of the contents, to ensure it is safe for their specific dietary requirements.

If you require non-allergic bedding, please let us know and we will provide this for your stay.

Guests Living With Autism or Dementia

We can provide a video tour of your holiday property if this would be helpful for any guests or carers who specifically benefit from being able to prepare and orient themselves before arrival. Please contact our team to request this.

We are happy to help and advise with travel arrangements if required, and can also send maps and guides in advance of your holiday.

When guests arrive at our office for check-in and key collection, we can provide a quiet, private area for anyone who may need it.

If you require non-allergic bedding, please let us know and we will provide this for your stay.

Local Transport

There are regular bus services from Perranporth to and from Newquay and Truro provided by First Group. They have a page on their website with specific information relating to accessibility for assistance dogs, wheelchair users, mobility scooters and more. For further information please visit firstgroup.co.uk/bus-accessibility

Up to date timetables can be found at firstgroup.co.uk/cornwall or ask us if you would prefer to have one printed out for you, or provided in a larger font.

If you would like the number of a local taxi company, please get in touch and we will be able to provide this information. Taxi companies will need to be contacted directly to advise of their specific accessibility for different needs.

This guide is not intended to be a substitute for guests making their own checks and enquiries directly with us prior to making any bookings or visiting the property.
