Foodie Heaven in St Agnes

The Taphouse

Open all year round, The Taphouse offers a laid-back dining experience in a colourful and characterful setting. Relaxed and informal, yet still providing fabulous food (and generous portion sizes!), The Taphouse also often hosts live music nights and offers an impressive selection of draught lagers and spirits from the bar.

Fresh seafood, crab and lobster is delivered daily, and meats and Cornish produce are locally sourced. The lunch time menu starts from just £7.50: amazing value for money!

The Peterville Inn

Specialising in showcasing locally sourced food and drinks with a modern pub dining experience. You’ll find a welcoming atmosphere at the cosy, traditional inn found in the heart of St Agnes village. The Peterville Inn serves up delicious menus including seafood, meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes. We highly recommend their mouth-watering Sunday roast, served with the tastiest cauliflower cheese! The perfect spot after a walk around the cove!

The Driftwood Spars

With their own brewery and B&B, the Driftwood Spars isn’t your standard pub! Enjoy proper Cornish ales, homemade food, or fresh coffee at this historic building nestled down in the valley at Trevaunance Cove. It offers beautiful sea views, two bars, a beer garden, a brewery and a sea-view restaurant.

The name originates from the huge beams (or spars) that were salvaged from shipwrecks and used to build The Driftwood in the 1650s. Initially a tin mining warehouse, the building was latterly used as a chandlery, sail making loft and fish cellar, before being converted into a hotel and bar in the early 1900s. A true Cornish coastal pub with friendly service and heaps of history and character.

The St Agnes Hotel

A family run hotel, The St Agnes Hotel has stood in the centre of Churchtown since the 17th century. With an excellent reputation for home cooked food, the pub is dog friendly and has a few outdoor tables from which to enjoy the sunshine and watch the world go by.

Genki

A lovely little café on the road down to the beach, Genki means ‘health and happiness’ in Japanese, which is what you’ll be feeling after a cup of their finest Yallah coffee (roasted in Falmouth), fresh fruit smoothies, breakfast bowls, locally sourced lovely cakes, salads and sandwiches, and on a Sunday morning they do a barbecue breakfast outside, either bacon or halloumi baps. Genki is licensed and sometimes hold evening events too – check their notice boards for what they have going on!

The Sorting Office

In the heart of the village, what was the old Post Office and sorting room was given a new lease of life in 2015 as a beautifully renovated, revamped, and much-loved coffeehouse serving the community. The Sorting Office offers locally-sourced artisan Origin coffee, freshly baked Baker Tom pastries, homemade Rustic cakes, nutritious smoothies and other delicious treats. We can recommend their iced coffees and raw pressed cakes which are to die for!

The Cornish Pizza Company

Offering authentic thin-crust pizzas made using fresh, local ingredients, The Cornish Pizza Company make their pizza dough daily using organic flour, and hand stretch the dough to order. Toppings include freshly made tomato sauce, Cornish cheeses and local meats, and the extensive takeaway menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal specials made using local produce.

The Little Green Vegan Bakery

The Little Green Vegan Bakery is a small family business which bakes incredible vegan cakes and treats. One of us in the office was bought a vegan and gluten-free chocolate and raspberry birthday cake from here and we can honestly say it was absolutely exceptional; so fresh and utterly delicious!

St Agnes Bakery

For more sweet treats, and also delicious savoury pastries, St Agnes Bakery in Churchtown are famous for their sausage rolls which are immense and come in a variety of tempting flavours. They also sell highly recommended vegan pasties, so veggies and vegans don’t have to miss out on getting a Cornish pasty fix.

Fission Chips

Tucked away in the corner of Churchtown Square in the centre of St Agnes, the Fission Chip Shop has been serving quality fish and chips for over 50 years! It’s a popular place, getting busy especially in the summer, but well worth a visit.
