Why we love Cornwall in September

With warmer than average temperatures and glorious autumnal sunshine, Cornwall basks in sunny days throughout the month. Perfect for walking the coastline or exploring the beaches.

The summer sun has warmed the sea, and the infamous September swell arrives. Making it great for those who love to get in the water and ride the waves, from bodyboarding to surfing!

You can’t beat a September sunset! The changing light and coastal landscapes create breath-taking scenes to be enjoyed from the beach, your sea view holiday home or from your favourite bar or restaurant by the sea.

With the summer crowds heading home, you’ll find quieter beaches and enjoy a more tranquil break. Whilst Cornwall’s best loved attractions are still open, you’ll experience all the fun without the queues!

Cornish is famed for its food, and seasonal fayre will delight the taste buds! Feast on fresh fish, autumn harvests of locally grown fruit and vegetables, as well as tucking into the Cornish classics; cream teas, Cornish pasties and scrumpy cider!

From live music to family days out and festivals, there is lots to do in Cornwall in September. You’ll find live music, pop-up events and more, across the Duchy. Plus, many of the family friendly circuses are still in town. To see what’s on, check out Cornwall 365.
