Romantic escapes for two in Cornwall

Why not spend time together learning something new? Book a joint surf lesson to learn a new skill and enjoy the exhilaration of catching the waves, or how about giving stand up paddle boarding a go, or kayaking along Cornwall’s beautiful waterways and exploring secluded coves?

Cornwall isn’t all about the coast either, there are some wonderful woodland walks: feed squirrels and swans at Tehidy Woods, enjoy the peace and beauty at Golitha Falls, or take your bikes to Cardinham Woods for some exciting off-road trails.

After a busy day in the water, on the beach, or in the woods, treat yourselves with a Cornish cream tea for two overlooking Perranporth beach at the Alcatraz café bar, or perhaps a drink or two at the cosy Peterville Inn in St Agnes.

For a romantic dinner with a view there are many fabulous shoreside restaurants to choose from. The Summer House overlooks the golden sands at Perranporth while Schooners is perched up above Trevaunance Cove in St Agnes. Watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean from Lewinnick Lodge in Pentire or enjoy fresh seafood beachside at The Fish House in Fistral. Or for a different outlook the Heron Inn at Malpas on the outskirts of Truro has lovely views over the River Fal, the boats on the water and the surrounding countryside.

Alternatively, if all you want is some quiet time together, you could order a Cornish hamper to be delivered to your door and enjoy a night in with good food and drink in the comfort of your cosy bolthole for two. We recommend The Cornish Food Box Company for fresh local ingredients and recipe boxes, so you won’t have to spend any of your precious holiday time in a supermarket.

We’ve rounded up the best of our self-catering holidays that are perfect for two, or for a bit more space to spread out in, some of our larger properties offer discounted rates for couples.
