Your Guide to School Holidays 2021

2020 has been a difficult year, but 2021 is just around the corner, bringing with it hope for a light at the end of the tunnel, and opportunities for Cornish family holidays enjoying time with loved ones by the coast. Here’s our guide to the main school holidays so you can plan ahead and book in precious beachside breaks.

February half term: 13 – 21 February 2021

By mid-February the days will already be lengthening and the first spring buds tentatively showing. Enjoy coastal walks, quieter beaches, and warming hot chocolates in your self-catering accommodation while watching the winter waves.

Easter holidays: 27 March – 18 April 2021

The Easter school holidays differ throughout the UK, with the Easter weekend at the beginning of April this year, from Friday 2nd – Monday 5th April 2021.

By April the weather is definitely milder, spring flowers cover the cliff paths, and Cornwall’s many beautiful gardens are coming to life. Huge magnolias, vibrant camellias, swathes of bluebells, and bright foxgloves are just some of the gorgeous flowers that begin to bloom in Cornwall’s temperate climate.

May half term: 29 May – 6 June 2021

With miles of beach and countryside to explore, the glorious early summer days of May are easy to fill with outdoor adventures, picnics and sea swimming. Many of Cornwall’s beaches (and our self-catering properties) are dog friendly, so you can bring the whole family including your four-legged friends, for a relaxing coastal break and make memories to last a lifetime.

Summer holidays: 24 July – 5 September 2021

If you’re already dreaming of summer bodyboarding followed by basking on the beach in the sunshine, sandy toes, salty skin, Cornish ice creams, and a glass of something cold while watching the sun sink into the sea, book your summer break today and make the dream a reality! Summer 2021 is already booking up fast, so give us a call to reserve your preferred property or favoured dates.

October half term: 23 – 31 October 2021

A wonderful time of the year for a family break, the October half term can often deliver autumnal sunshine, bright crisp days, blue skies and warm water. The beaches are quieter and the woodlands a riot of colour as the leaves change. Make the most of a restful getaway before the busyness of the Christmas term kicks in!

Christmas and New Year: 18 December 2021 – 3 January 2022

If you fancy Christmas by the coast next year why not plan ahead for it now? Wake on Christmas morning to the sound of the waves, take a post-Christmas Day lunch stroll along the beach, and join in with the Boxing Day sea dip at Perranporth (no wetsuits allowed!).

We’re also taking bookings for 2022, so if you have a Cornwall self-catering holiday in mind already, give us a call, or search availability here, and reserve your chosen dates. See you on the beach!
