A piece of cake, our guide to local bakeries

Here in our Perranporth office, cake is never far from our thoughts if we’re honest! We love a slice of cake with a late morning cup of tea, especially this time of year. So in honour of The Great British Bake Off being on our screens, we thought we’d share with you our favourite local cafes and bakeries which offer a wide selection of scrumptious baked goodies…

The Baking Post

Perranporth’s newest bakery makes delectable freshly baked cakes and pastries. From light and fluffy carrot cake to fudgy brownies there’s always a great array of tempting treats… the only difficulty is choosing which one to have!

No4 Bistro

Tucked away by the seafront in Perranporth, serving hot drinks and freshly baked cakes. Plus breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner! The perfect pit stop after a walk along the beach or coast path.

Alcatraz

Perched on the cliff overlooking Perranporth beach, the bar and café Alcatraz delivers beautiful beach views to enjoy alongside lovely coffee, cocktails and cake (see main image above).

St Agnes Bakery

Famous for their sausage rolls (these are a must-try), St Agnes Bakery in Churchtown has been there for over 100 years and remains popular to this day! They also bake beautiful scones, cakes, Florentines and all manner of delicious treats.

Genki

Fresh coffee, smoothies bowls, waffles and locally sourced cakes (including the mouth-watering cronut) are just some of the delights you can expect from Genki, a lovely little café on the road down to Trevaunance Cove in St Agnes.

Milk

Another Newquay favourite, Milk serves up fresh cakes and bagels daily, enjoy alongside a warming cup of tea, coffee, or a variety of delicious caffeine-free options. We highly recommend their hot chocolate!

Jam Jar

After a stroll along Crantock beach, head back towards the village for coffee, cake or pizza (served from 4pm) at Jam Jar Kitchen. Tucked away under cascading vines, it’s a delightful holiday hideaway. Try their chocolate brownies, you won’t be disappointed.
