A charming traditional seaside property, Coastguard Cottage is situated above the beach, set back on the cliff, just five minutes' downhill walk to Perranporth's village and beach. Enjoying a sea view and large enclosed garden, Coastguard Cottage is a perfect property for a family retreat.
From the parking area with space for two cars, entrance to the cottage is down eight steps to the rear door and then a further two internal steps into the kitchen. A colourful and homely room, the kitchen is lovely and light, with a large skylight, cream units, wood work surfaces and a flagstone floor. It is fully equipped with electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. A shower room off the kitchen is fitted with a shower cubicle, WC and small basin, ideal when coming in from a day at the beach!
A step down from the kitchen takes you into the cottage's dining room with exposed wooden floor, dining table with chairs and stools for six people, and a multi-fuel burner in a feature fireplace. The sitting room is comfortably furnished in a homely style with two sofas, an electric fire fitted into a fireplace and a TV.
Upstairs are three bedrooms and the family bathroom. Please take care at the top of the stairs as there's an extra step going into the bathroom and bedroom. There are also some low ceilings between rooms - all part of the character of a traditional Cornish cottage! Bedroom one has a double bed (4'6) and is at the front of the house with a beach view. Bedroom two is also furnished with a double bed (4'6) and bedroom three with full sized bunk beds (3'). The bathroom is fitted with a bath with overhead shower, basin and WC.
To the front of the house is a large enclosed garden mostly laid to lawn, and with a seating area on the patio from which to enjoy the view and the morning sun. At the back of the property is a decked area with a barbecue, and also available to guests is a shed useful for storing boards, bikes and beach equipment. The cottage is heated by night storage heaters, the multi-fuel fire in the dining room, and an additional portable heater should this be needed.
Coastguard Cottage is less than five minutes' downhill stroll to Perranporth's shops, bars and restaurants, and the glorious three-mile long sandy beach and great surf. Lazy days can be spent on the sands or the South West coast path can be joined just two minutes' walk from the cottage and offering breathtaking views. There's also horse riding, tennis, golf and outdoor bowls all within the local vicinity. Perranporth is a great location from which to explore the rest of Cornwall: the cathedral city of Truro and beautiful beaches of Newquay are only eight miles away, and The Eden Project, Falmouth, Padstow and St Ives are all within an easy 40-minute drive.
