What is there to do in Perranporth and St Agnes?

In the main season the beaches are lifeguarded, and water sports are the main activity! There are several surf schools, and you can also try body boarding, sea swimming, stand up paddle boarding and kayaking. Perranporth has a sea view golf course, bowling green, grass and hard tennis courts, and paragliding from the local airfield. There is also a children’s play park and a lovely boating lake where row boats can be hired and the ducks fed.

How long is Perranporth beach?

Perranporth beach, looking out to the Atlantic Ocean, is a glorious three miles (5 km) of golden sand at low tide. It is a wide flat beach with soft sand, although at high tide most of it becomes covered by the sea! The Parish Council own the beach at Perranporth. There is a car park right on the beach front, and toilets, shops and facilities all at the entrance to the beach.

Is there a beach in St Agnes?

Trevaunance Cove is the main beach at St Agnes, a lovely sheltered cove in a valley with a pebbly beach. A favourite with families, there’s an old harbour, caves to discover and lots of rock pools to explore. At low tide you can clamber over rocks to reach the neighbouring beach of Trevellas Porth.

Are the local beaches dog friendly?

Yes, Perranporth beach is dog-friendly all year round with a seasonal restriction that dogs must be kept on short leads on the main section of the beach in July and August between 9am – 5 pm. Trevaunance Cove in St Agnes is also dog-friendly all year round, with the stipulation that dogs are kept on leads. See our favourite dog walks in the area here.
