Double gates open to the grounds of this unique property, and the driveway winds up to the quintessential whitewashed cottage with wisteria growing at the front. There is ample parking for four cars and a paved ramp leads up to the patio and porch entrance, ideal for those with mobility difficulties, and for pushchairs. 

 

A covered oak porchway opens into the hall with a natural slate floor which extends into the spacious kitchen. Wide patio doors set within an apex window open to the sun-trap patio, and allow light to flood in. A large grey corner sofa and comfortable armchair enjoy views to the gardens, and offer a comfy place from which to watch the TV which comes with Sky, Netflix and BT Sport. 

 

The Haven has a traditional feel with a stylish contemporary twist and has been finished with great attention to detail. The large kitchen is fitted with pale blue gloss cupboards, twin ovens, fridge/freezer, and a halogen hob on the central kitchen island. A utility room offers additional cupboards and sink, and the washing machine, tumble dryer and boiler are housed here. A door from the utility room leads back into the hallway from which the downstairs bathroom can be accessed, and there is also a door out to the back gardens.

 

Spacious and modern, the ground floor bathroom has a slate floor, and is fitted with a white bathroom suite including a square rain shower over the bath, WC, basin and heated towel rail. The dining and sitting room is in the old cottage part of the property, a lovely long room with wooden floor and deep windowsills. Furnished with an oak dining table and six chairs, there's a large four-seater velvet sofa and two-seater leather sofa. This stylish and comfortable room has a log burner placed in the original old fireplace, and a Smart TV with Netflix and DVD player for lazy cosy evenings. There is also a stable door from this room out to the front garden. 

 

Stairs ascend from the hall up to the first floor. At the top of the stairs to the left is the master bedroom, built in the sensitively designed new part of the house, and furnished with a king-sized sleigh bed (5'), reclaimed wooden wardrobe, and patio doors to a raised lawned garden to the side of the house. An en suite is fitted with a shower cubicle, WC, basin, and heated towel rail. At the top of the stairs is a large landing space outside the master bedroom, with a single bed (3') and fitted wardrobe and space for setting up a travel cot. Please note that this area is open to the top of the stairs and is not an enclosed bedroom.

 

To the other side of the staircase, a landing with lovely deep windowsills and fitted hanging cupboards leads to the other bedrooms and bathroom. Bedroom two is furnished with a double bed (4'6") and a chest of drawers, and bedroom three with a double bed (4'6"), chest of drawers and built-in wardrobe. The main family bathroom has reclaimed wooden floorboards, a freestanding bath, separate shower cubicle with rain shower, a WC and basin. The Haven is heated by underfloor oil heating throughout the property.

 

Outside, the property benefits from a sun-trap patio with patio furniture and seating, and outside lights for when the sun goes down. Lavender, roses and flower borders complement the country cottage garden, and the house is surrounded by two acres of enclosed private land, wooded areas with mature trees, fruit trees and secluded peaceful countryside where wildlife can often be spotted.
